A surfer on Lake Michigan (lower right) spent the afternoon today trying out the waves at South Haven’s Water Street Beach (South Beach). The Palisades Nuclear Plant is shown in the background emitting what appeared to be huge steam clouds into the sky. A colorful and dramatic display of nature was seen tonight after the sun set on Lake Michigan at the State Park in Muskegon. The outer lighthouse is seen on the lower right as the clouds glowed overhead from the setting sun and waves crashed in front of the sun’s remaining brilliance on the lower left.

As the sun set on Lake Michigan tonight, the water appeared to come to a boil when waves crashed in front of the blazing star near the shores of Muskegon, Michigan.

Golden Dome of Notre Dame

The view of the University of Notre Dame’s Main Administration Building, also known as the Golden Dome, as seen yesterday in South Bend, Indiana. The dome is covered in gold leaf and topped with a 4,000 pound statue of Mother Mary. The season has turned some of the surrounding trees on the campus there a golden color as well.

A group of Sandhill Cranes shown displaying their 7 foot wing spans as they took flight yesterday at the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area in Indiana. The area is known for the thousands of Sandhill Cranes that stop there each Autumn from mid-October through November.
