I found this muskrat today on the frozen edge of a stream in Ottawa County, Michigan. It appeared to be nibbling on something just before diving into the freezing water for a swim.

As always … A very beautiful photo, this time of a little muskrat. I have never seen one where i live, but there is lots of them in the northern part of Sweden . // M
contrary to lack-of-duck-variety, we DO have a few different water mammals — i saw an otter frolicing/rolling on the ice of the Colorawdough River recently, and look on with interest at how the muskrats do whatever it is they do underneath the ice of our pond
