I found this brown butterfly as it rested on a flower today in a Southwest Michigan forest. It was nice to see the weather warm enough for butterflies to be flittering about again.

sweet and beautiful
Thank you Becky!
Delightful photograph. You capture the moment perfectly. I love the colour contrast: brown butterfly on pinky-orange bud.
Thank you, it’s fun to photograph butterflies :)
Thanks again Pat :)
Lovely…but I am shocked that the ad was covering part of the photo. I have never seen an ad do that (yet)
Thanks for mentioning that. Those ads should be removed now :)
So very beautiful… There’s so much details in its wings. I love how the flower seems to float in the air. Did you took the photo handheld ? If you did you have a steady hand, more than mine :)
Thanks Jocelyne :) Yes, hand held, but I often have to raise the ISO in order to have a shutter speed fast enough to compensate for any movement of the lens. I think this was shot at 1/1,250 of a second with a longer lens :)
