I spotted this Red Winged Blackbird as it perched in a nearby Holland, Michigan park under a blue sky today. Another bird had just flown nearby and it expanded its wings to make it clear that this was its territory.

Such a great shot!
Thanks very much!
You know what I have always wondered about Red Winged black birds? When you’re driving on a highway and there are reflectors on poles along the side of the road at regular intervals, sometimes birds perch on top. It seems like 9 times out of 10 when you see a bird on one of these 4 foot poles, it’s a red-winged blackbird.
Yes, they are found everywhere in my area as well.
What a beautiful shot!
Thank you Pat! :)
This ROCKS, Jeffrey. Did you do any cropping?
There was a little cropping, but I was fairly close to it at the time :) Thanks Frank!
