Golden Eagle Call

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

I  captured this moment last year of a Golden Eagle in West Michigan as it was calling out. I liked the somewhat unique view as its tongue extended during the call. The golden tinged feathers of the bird of prey’s neck accounts for its name.

Eagle’s Perch

I ran across this beautiful American Bald Eagle in Holland, Michigan as it perched on a tree branch overlooking a nearby lake.

Immature Bald Eagle

I found this immature American Bald Eagle flying over Holland, Michigan today on a thermal updraft. Moments later it responded to another Eagle’s call in the distance by flying toward it and out of sight.

Bald Eagles are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. I captured the moment as the Eagle was calling out, perhaps a warning to keep something away. If you’d like a print of this image, please click on the photo below to order one.
