A Unique Look

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

This Cedar Waxwing had a look quite different from its companions, lol. With the daring hairstyle and at first glance the appearance of sunglasses, a statement of individuality was being made :)

Rock Climbing

As I was browsing through some of my photo files, I ran across this Spotted Sandpiper I had photographed a while back. I caught it mid-stride as it was climbing rocks along a West Michigan shoreline near sunset.

Dutchman’s Breeches

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

With flowers beginning to emerge in West Michigan woodlands, it wasn’t surprising to find Dutchman’s Breeches recently since this is known to be an early Spring Flower.  They are resistant to moderate frost. The name originates from the white flowers that appear to look like Dutch pantaloons hanging upside down.

Nature’s Art

I’ve had several requests for prints from visitors  since I began posting my outdoor and nature photography. I have uploaded them to

where they can be ordered. If you have a favorite image I haven’t uploaded there, just let me know and I’ll be sure to add it to those you can order. Thanks for visiting!

Easter Bunny

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

This little bunny chose a perfect time to come out and enjoy some early morning sunshine on this Easter Sunday. I found it as I went out this morning visiting a wetland area of Grand Haven, Michigan. Temperatures should pass 70 today in West Michigan with lots of sunshine :)

Sleepy Owl

I enjoyed photographing this sleepy Snowy Owl. It was stretching its claws while standing on a concrete drainage structure in a field where it hunted. This Snowy could probably win the cutest bird of prey contest if there were such a thing, lol :)

Golden Eagle Call

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

I  captured this moment last year of a Golden Eagle in West Michigan as it was calling out. I liked the somewhat unique view as its tongue extended during the call. The golden tinged feathers of the bird of prey’s neck accounts for its name.

My Eye on You

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

This winter there has been a larger number of migrating Snowy Owls moving south compared to most years. I haven’t had the time to search very much lately, but looking through my files I found this photo I took from a previous migration in Michigan. The sun was low in the sky giving the owl a golden tinged appearance. I liked the way it had its eye on me, watching as I took the photo.

Cool Style or Bad Hair Day?

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

I found this duck swimming today in a West Michigan pond sporting a cool hair style. Or maybe it just had a bad hair day? LOL.

Disappearing Ice

Copyright Jeffrey Foltice

I found this pair of Mallard ducks munching on the edge of an ice flow in Holland, Michigan today. I’m not sure why they were doing this, but if you have any ideas, feel free to post them :)
