Heavenly Landscape

I found the dark contrasting thin line of cloud gave the illusion of a horizon in the sky as I photographed the scene. The pastel orange backdrop and floating dark clouds above added to the drama of the moment. This is yet another example of a Michigan sky as the sun sets, which I always enjoy capturing and sharing.
Descending Sun

Today’s sunset was particularly beautiful with a dramatic contrast of dark clouds along with orange and yellow coloring in the sky. I caught a moment as the sun was peeking through a crescent shaped break in the clouds while it descended toward the waters of Lake Michigan in Ottawa County, Michigan.

Massive cloud formations appeared over a Zeeland, Michigan field. The clouds produced plenty of rain over the area, which was welcomed after a long dry spell. Prints and greeting cards of this image are available below via the photo link:

I found this wetland in Holland, Michigan to be a great open area to see the mountains of clouds pass overhead. If you look closely, in the upper left of the photo, you can see a flock of birds flying past. Prints and greeting cards of this image are available by clicking on the photo below:

Today was a good day for photographing clouds. I found this puffy white example with a blue sky today over Muskegon, Michigan.

The sky had some interesting looks today over Muskegon County, Michigan. The variations in color and contrasts with blue, white, grey and black, along with the green of the landscape, provided a great subject for me to capture.

There was a colorful and warm afterglow in the sky over West Michigan last Thursday shortly after sunset, which I captured with this photo. A storm had passed through the area just a few hours before.
