Today’s sunset was particularly beautiful with a dramatic contrast of dark clouds along with orange and yellow coloring in the sky. I caught a moment as the sun was peeking through a crescent shaped break in the clouds while it descended toward the waters of Lake Michigan in Ottawa County, Michigan.
Big Red Lighthouse

I captured this image of the Holland Michigan Big Red Lighthouse, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, as a rain storm with dark clouds passed in the background yesterday. With the sun brightly illuminating the foreground, the dark clouds helped to create a nice contrast while showcasing the colorful subject. Prints are available by clicking the photo below:

The clouds appeared as a fireball behind a group of trees in Holland, Michigan today as the sun was setting. I’ve been amazed at the beautiful and colorful skies we’ve enjoyed this Winter in West Michigan.

Ice Cold

Wind blown icicles formed along the railings at Grand Haven State Park in Grand Haven, Michigan. The blue railings line the walkway next to the waters of Lake Michigan. The sun broke through the clouds there this afternoon to light up the calling card of another Michigan Winter.
