Family Swim

I found these ducklings swimming with their mother on a local waterway. Most of the time they were following her, but there were moments like this when they seemed to lead the way 🙂

Nice Discovery

As I noticed a butterfly floating near some flowers in the distance, I moved in to photograph it. But as I arrived, the butterfly had flown away. As I looked closely examining the flowers, I discovered a fly glistening in the sunlight displaying its own colors. One of the nice things about nature photography is that you never know what you may run across 🙂

Beach Sunset

Its always a pleasure to enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan and its beaches at anytime. But as the sun sets the sky erupts with color, the shadows on the waves deepen and the reflections on the wet sand are on display.

Beauty in the Details

Looking through my files I found this image of an American Kestrel I took a while ago. Getting in close enough to see the beauty in the details of its feathers, the subtle coloring, etc. makes this one special to me. Hope you enjoy seeing it as well 🙂

Great Blue

Great Blue Herons are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. I was especially happy to be close enough to photograph this one in flight.

Look Around

It was amazing to see these two visions of the sky within seconds of each other. As I finished photographing the dark sky in one direction, I looked around behind me to see another beautiful view.

Burst of Orange

This male Baltimore Oriole discovered some pieces of fruit in the suet cake I had placed outside recently. Its burst of orange feathers caught my eye and moments later I was photographing him as he enjoyed a snack. The coloring was bright and vivid adding beauty to the day.

Red-bellied

I had placed an orange outside to see what birds might be drawn to it. To my surprise, a Red-bellied Woodpecker took some interest. Its red head and patterned back along with the subtle, but unique, coloring of its belly made for a beautiful sight 🙂

A Time for Blossoms

I found this nearby tree bursting with fresh blossoms and couldn’t resist photographing its beauty. Here is a taste of Spring for you to enjoy as I did 🙂

“i” in the Sky

The sun and its reflection in Lake Michigan formed a beautiful “i” with the sunset last night. The beauty of nature never fails to amaze me. I hope you enjoy this moment as I did capturing it with my camera 🙂
